Just a note backing up what others have mentioned, stick with quality brands like Verbatim. To do this click start, click settings, click control panel, double click Add/Remove programs. I much preferred the layout of windows media, i never had any problems. to make absoultely sure this is not the case i would suggest trying to burn a cd with just one song on it, if it works, problem solved!

First, what type of machine are you using.Second, have you burned audio CDs on this machine before.Third, when you say "album", do you mean a PLAYLIST in iTunes?Fourth, have you changed Whatever you do, do not use iTunes while burning a cd!!! The distance between hard drive to cd-r/dvd-r/+r is a LOOONG one at times.

Windows Media was working just fine for me, until i had to convert to itunes after receiving an ipod as a gift.
